Hayes elected as Vice Chair of European Parliaments’ Finance Committee

Fine Gael MEP, Brian Hayes was this week elected as Vice Chair of the European Parliament’s Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (ECON). Speaking following his election the Dublin MEP said:

“It is a privilege to have been chosen by my colleagues as the Vice Chair of our Committee.  The ECON committee is one of the biggest Committees in the European Parliament, scrutinising legislation in the area of financial services. It also has responsibility to question and hold the European Central Bank to account.”

“Since I joined the Committee in 2014 I have worked on many areas of financial legislation including Money Market Funds, Fintech and Pan European Pensions. I look forward to continuing this work in my new role.,” concluded MEP Hayes
